Description
At the beginning of the 1970s, the older types of postwagons could hardly be used profitably. Even the first new cars of the years 1952/53 were only able to use only to a limited extent with their 120km/h.Therefore, the Deutsche Bundespost commissioned new rail postal cars in 1973. Until 1976, 200 wagons were manufactured, which were called "Post mar". From 1979, the reconstruction and upgrading of 200 km/h was approved for a high speed of 140 km/h.These cars could also be used in IC or EC trains. The 200 km/h fast post-IC-course was the main application area of this, initially green, later ocean-blue/beige painted car until the mid-nineties.After the postal cars were shut down, some of them were sold to private companies, including RailAdventure, which uses these cars as a coupling car for vehicle transfers.
