Not just for stillsThe camera module 3 can record full-HD videos at 50 frames per second, whereby higher frame rates are possible at lower resolutions. With an HDR mode and auto-focus it not only offers excellent photo quality, but is also a fantastic tool for video recordings and streaming. Watch our video, which was filmed entirely with the camera module 3, to see it in action. For developersThe Camera Module 3 takes advantage of the Raspberry Pi open source camera system supported by libcamera. This comprehensive set of libraries gives developers precise control over image processing and better access to the interior of the Camera Module 3.For beginnersThe latest version of Raspberry Pi OS comes with a pre-installed beta version of Picamera2, a Python library developed here at Raspberry Pi in Cambridge. Picamera2 is suitable for beginners as well as advanced users and is suitable for everything from home projects to machine learning applications.Quality of (still) lifeThe camera module 3 is equipped with an improved 12 MP IMX708 Quad Bayer sensor and has a high dynamic range mode.Focus on the goodThe Camera Module 3 has an ultra fast Auto focus as standard. A comprehensive library of software commands gives you full control over what you focus on and how you do it.View from a different perspectiveDo you need a larger field of view than the standard 75 degrees? The camera module 3 Wide offers an extremely wide viewing angle of 120 degrees, so that your Raspberry Pi can see more of the world.See things differentlyBoth the standard and wide angle camera are optionally available without IR-filter, WAS converts the camera module 3 in a night-view camera, if it is used with infrared light.

All Raspberry Pi Zero models require a Raspberry Pi Zero camera cable to be connected to the Raspberry Pi camera module. The standard cable supplied with the camera is not compatible with the smaller Raspberry Pi Zero camera connector. The Raspberry Pi Camera Module 3 will remain in production until at least January 2030.
