Description
The need for heavy goods train locomotives prompted DB to build a total of 43 E 94 series locomotives between 1954 and 1956. This also included the E 94 178, which was led as 194 178 after the conversion of the DB series scheme 1968. During the main test on January 08, 1976, the locomotive received a paint in the colors ocean blue and ivory valid at DB in 1974. However, the division of colors with a bright contrast surface on the front did not convince because of the vulnerability in this area. As the only locomotive of its series with this lacquer finish, it was also nicknamed "Blue Mauritius".PIKO has transferred this special locomotive to the scale 1:87 taking into account all the special features of the prototype. The sound versions have an PIKO sound decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker for an excellent sound experience ex-factory.
