A camera for motion photography and machine viewingThe Raspberry Pi Global Shutter Camera is a special 1.6 megapixel camera that captures fast movements without producing the artifacts typical for shutter cameras. Ideal is suitable for fast motion photography and machine image processing applications where even low distortion can significantly affect interference performance.Thanks to the large pixel size of 3,45μm × 3,45μm and the associated high sensitivity of light, the global shutter camera can operate at short exposure times (up to 30μs with adequate lighting) and WAS is advantageous for high-speed shooting.Equipped with a Sony IMX296 1.6 MP sensor, it has the same C/CS mount lens assembly as the Raspberry Pi High Quality Camera, making it compatible with the same wide range of lenses. Like other global shutter sensors, the IMX296 has a lower resolution than similar-sized rolling shutter sensors. The low pixel count is suitable for machine vision applications where processing high resolution images in real time is a challenge. The lower resolution of the Global Shutter Camera means that an appropriate lens magnification can be used to capture an image that is suitable for image processing.The Raspberry Pi Global Shutter Camera comes with a C-to-CS mount adapter, a screwdriver and a 150-mm ribbon cable, and a removable plastic cover for protection. It is compatible with any Raspberry Pi computer that has a CSI connector.
