Description
MERCURY MRW PERFORMANCEThe optimal application of the two Mercury subwoofers MRW104 and MRW84 is located in the bass-reflex or band-pass range. Because the woofers need relatively small volume, the use of several subwoofers is a good choice. For example, an MRW84 in a 20 liter bass reflex housing already creates an extremely low limit frequency (-3 dB) of 32 Hz! With low bass losses, but with higher dynamics and dry bass, the subs are also highly recommended for use in small closed housings.The quality of the Mercury subwoofers is exceptional: With the perforated steel baskets in the Hifonics design, they not only set visual accents, but also the selection of the components used is impressive: Created paper membranes, durable rubber surrounds and robust spiders are the ingredients. Even the small MRW84 with a diameter of 20 cm, and like its big brother MRW104, comes with a very large 50 mm voice coil. Both woofers with a chrome-plated basket and magnetic boat, so they are particularly impressive in inverted installations such as Mercury boxes, facing the basket.
