Description
Many civil engineering companies preferred the red paint finish of their construction vehicles. The road roller manufacturer Ruthemeyer from the Westphalian town of Soest also painted its construction vehicles from the factory in just the same way. The Ruthemeyer road roller, miniaturized by Wiking on a scale of 1:87, from the former construction machine shop in the heart of Westphalia, was one of the central construction vehicles in Germany for many years – many were still in use until the eighties. Several models of this diesel roller have been preserved, and today they are mostly used in construction and operating stations as a reminder of decades that have long gone by.
