The official Raspberry Pi 5 enclosure is a further development of the Raspberry Pi 4 enclosure with a range of enhancements and thermal characteristics to take the base and peak power consumption of the Raspberry Pi 5 into account.
The housing has a well-known, easy-to-mount snap-together design and now includes an internal PWM fan for the dedicated fan connector on the Raspberry Pi 5. Heatsink are included in the delivery. Ventilation openings in the bottom and a narrow gap below the cover also ensure an unhindered air flow. This combination of active and passive thermal measures ensures that your board remains cool even in the most demanding projects.
When you remove the cover, you will find the removable clear fan insert that contains cutouts for access to the GPIO pins and corner slots for securing spacers. Removing the transparent insert means you can easily fit hits into the gap, allowing you to extend your Raspberry Pi 5 without removing the protection it provides.
The new power button on the Raspberry Pi 5 is accessible with a transparent 2-in-1 button and an activity LED button. An access area has been added to replace the micro-SD card, while soft feet keep your projects on your desk and the surface is not damaged. You can stack housings by adding your own spacers/screws.
