ProfiHub B2+R converter
The Profibus B2+R enables far-reaching RS 485 star/tree and bus segments and long track lines for PROFIBUS installations in IP 20 environments. It is a simple and robust network component for creating flexible and object-oriented networks.
When redundancy is switched on, the ProfiHub B2+R becomes a cost-effective and extremely reliable repeater solution.
The ProfiHub B2+R is equipped with 2 galvanically separated transparent repeaters (supports 3 segments). Each segment can operate up to 31 devices and have the same length as the main bus line. In order to save costs for connectors and to offer a certain flexibility, the B2+R includes screw terminals and DB9 connectors. To facilitate installation, termination is integrated by terminating resistors and can be switched on/off.
With bus redundancy turned on, 2 segments form a redundant pair that is fully compatible with the ABB RLM01. An alarm contact is linked to events based on the status of the power supply and bus redundancy.
