The new EtherMIRROR from PROCENTEC was developed to enable access to passive diagnostic information without shutting down the system. It serves as a measurement access that can easily be installed in any industrial network with PROFINET or Ethernet/IP.
In conjunction with the PROCENTEC EtherTAP, the EtherMIRROR enables access to telegram traffic and diagnostic information without even actively participating in the network. The ports thereby support a transfer speed of up to 1Gbit in the full-duplex method. The main advantage of the EtherTAP is to avoid costly plant downtime, since no connections need to be disconnected to access diagnostics. The EtherTAP and EtherMIRROR (work in harmonic symbiosis) are fully compatible with each other and continuously reflect all messages between the PLC and the first switch. Valuable information from message frame recordings, such as lost packets, jitter, cycle times and alarm messages, is therefore immediately available.
