Description

The digital control electronics type 8605 serves to control proportional-magnet control valves in the power range of 40-2000 mA. The electronics convert an external standard signal into a pulse-width modulated (PWM) signal with which the opening of the proportional valve and thus a fluid output variable (e.g. flow rate) can be adjusted continuously. An internal current control with the pulse ratio of the PWM signal as the manipulated variable causes each value of the input signal to be assigned a specific value of the effective coil current, regardless of the thermal state of the coil. The electronics can be easily adapted to a specific proportional valve and to the specific conditions of an application via a display and operating keys. In order to integrate the control and therefore also the proportional valve into a higher-level control, the CAN-based version of the control (called bus) is necessary. Parameterization and configuration of the proportional valve can be performed quickly and easily with the Bürkert Communicator software. In addition, the bus control electronics allows shut-off valves to be integrated in the bus/CAN systems. A shut-off valve can be opened or closed for a certain time by the integrated time control function This is used, for example, for quantity controls in filling processes. Optionally, type 8605 can be equipped with an additional I/O board. This allows the connection of external sensors or switches. The response of the valve to these input signals can be configured (e.g. two-point control).

Information

The kv factor indicates the volume flow through a valve, measured in litres/min at 1 bar and at a water temperature between 5 and 30°C. The QNn factor indicates the gas volume flow, measured in litres/min
