The robust and compact positioner is designed for mounting on thrust and swivel drives with standardization in accordance with IEC 60534-6-1 and/or VDI/VDE 3845 (IEC 60534-6-2). The variant with remote position sensor can also be used to control Bürkert process control valves. The digital electro-pneumatic positioner SideControl processes all common current and voltage standard signals and can be equipped optionally with a fieldbus interface. The positioner is equipped with additional diagnostic functions for valve monitoring. Valve diagnostic messages via status signals are made according to NE107 (NAMUR) and are recorded as history entries. With the diagnostics, the operating conditions of the control valve can be monitored, WAS makes the maintenance decisions predictable, if necessary, and the availability of the systems optimized. It is operated via the external control and display module consisting of a graphic display with backlighting. For the user a very simple and clear operation is possible, which is identical to the Bürkert position or Process controllers ELEMENT 8692/8693. The pneumatic actuator system can be used equally for single and double-acting drives. It is characterized by a defined safety response in the event of failure of the electrical or pneumatic auxiliary energy and has a very large usable air power range with supply pressures up to 7bar.
