Using the DisplayPort™ 1.2 port as an input interface, you can use a laptop or desktop PC as the source for the movie file (or with known video-on-demand programs on the Internet) - provided that the device has such a DisplayPort™ port.
And on the other side...
You need an HDMI® connection. That means if you have a television with such a connection, you can enjoy your videos/pictures/... with a resolution of up to 3840 x 2160 pixels at 30 Hz picture repetition rate.
