Description
The ultra-high-density 3732 matrix card consists of four banks, each with 4 rows and 28 columns of reed relays. This offers 448 single-pole coupling points for maximum connection diversity in applications with a high number of channels. Bank configuration relays are attached to the card for even more flexibility. They provide an automatic method of linking banks to allow two additional matrix configurations: 4×112 and 4×56. With this function, the matrix size can be easily adapted to existing or future applications. For differential (2-wire) measurements, a two-pole mode can be selected that allows automatic coupling of coupling points to create a double 4×28 or simple 4×56 configuration. Analogue backplane relays are available for larger matrix sizes, with which series can be connected to the backplane of the 3700A series mainframe. For example, this allows a matrix of up to 4 rows by 672 columns within a single 3706A mainframe using six 3732 cards.
