The Homematic IP Access Point is the central element for the cloud-based, intuitive setup and control of the Homematic IP Smart home system via the free Homematic IP APP. The Access Point is connected to the conventional router and connects the Homematic IP cloud in Germany with the Homematic IP devices in your home - and that is completely encrypted. No registration or creation of a user account is necessary during setup. If the Access Point is connected to the Internet, all functions can be accessed via free APP. The intuitive APP provides all conceivable functions clearly. The APP can also be used to program new devices in a few simple steps. And if you want, you can easily control the Homematic IP system via voice commands (Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant). Thanks to a free field range of up to 400 meters, devices in distant corners can also be integrated reliably in the system.
The innovative IP radio protocol communicates extremely energy-efficiently on the 868 MHz/869.525 MHz frequency. In this way long battery operating times of the programmed devices are reached and users are not exposed to any permanent radio radiation. The high efficiency is also evident with the power consumption of the access point. This has an average power consumption of 1.1 watts, which should avoid surprises in the electricity bill. Despite the low energy consumption, the Basis also provides the user with the necessary status updates visually at any time. For this, the button on the front of the access point lights up in different colors, depending on the operating status.
The Homematic IP access Point can be operated lying on the table, or firmly mounted at the wall. Matching screws and dowels as well as the network cable required for connection to the router are also included.
