Description
The Akyga® AK-EC-22 is a three-phase charger for electric vehicles designed for quick and efficient charging. It has a 5 meter long cable that is terminated with a type 2 and a CEE 5 pin connector. The Type 2 plug is recognized as the European standard for charging electric vehicles and ensures compatibility with most of the electric cars on the market. The CEE 5-pin plug enables charging at 400-V sockets, whereby the capacity of the charger is maximized.
Used charging and protection technologies
The electric car charger AK-EC-22 has advanced safety features such as OVP, OCP, OPP, OTP, SCP and a special FI-protection switch of type B. These functions protect both the charger and the vehicle battery against overcurrent, overvoltage and overheating. They also protect against dangerous DC currents and thus ensure safety during each charging process.
Functionality and control
The heart of the EV charger is the ControlBox, which offers an adjustable charging current. This is a great advantage, as this allows the user to adapt the charging power to the current energy requirement and the network conditions. With in-car charger, the user can choose between four current settings: 10 A, 16 A, 24 A and 32 A. This allows the charger to be connected in both the home garage as well as to more demanding commercial locations. Furthermore, the built-in LCD allows the monitoring of the most important charging parameters such as current strength, wattage, mains voltage, total power consumption of the device, temperature of the charger and charging time.
