Description
The PIKO locomotive decoder 56122 is a small, powerful multiprotocol decoder. It can be used in DCC and Motorola** digital systems and also runs in analog mode with DC voltage or AC voltage and direction switching via overvoltage pulse (Märklin* system).
The decoder operates with a frequency of 18.75 KHz and is therefore suitable not only for DC motors, but also for bell-shaped armature motors (e.g. Faulhaber, Maxon, Escap) up to a continuous current consumption of 1 A. Short-term higher inrush currents are well tolerated. The motor characteristic is set via the minimum, average and maximum speed.
The load control can be individually adapted to the various locomotive motors by means of control parameters. The decoder has two directional lighting outputs. The function keys f3 and f4 can be used to switch a shunting gear with extended slow travel range and the starting brake delay. The decoder is programmable via PIKO Digi-Power-Box, DCC and Märklin* control units. With all devices all CV's have to be programmed.
On delivery, the decoder automatically recognizes the data formats DCC and Motorola, as well as the respective analog operation with DC or AC voltage. However, the desired operating mode can also be set manually.
