• The operation is based on the PTC effect. In normal operation, the resistance of the component is very low, so that only very low power losses occur. In the event of an error, e.g. short-circuit or overcurrent, the resistance value of this component increases and protects the device. After elimination of the error and switched-off supply voltage, the component quickly returns to its low-ohm status
