In fan-type grinders, the slats made of abrasive material on the base are arranged in a fan-shaped radial around the axis of the tool. Due to their flexibility, they adapt Ideal to the finest contours of the workpiece and are also suitable for the smallest boreholes and inner diameters of the pipe. The abrasive grain is embedded in an synthetic resin bond on the tensile, flexible tissue carrier. Fan grinders are guided in ISO 3919 under the name "Lamella grinding pins". Suitable for the finishing touches.

Benefits:
- Optimal contour adjustment thanks to high flexibility.
- Continuously high material removal over the entire service life, as new, aggressive abrasive is released continuously.
Application recommendations:
- The reduction of the contact pressure and the circumferential speed as well as the addition of grinding oil reduce the tool wear and the temperature load of the workpiece.
- An increase in the ablation rate should be achieved by a larger grain size and not by increasing the contact pressure to prevent unnecessary tool wear and heat load on the workpiece.
- Increasing the cutting speed results in a slightly finer surface. Increasing the contact pressure makes the surface slightly coarser. The softer the material to be machined, the coarser the surface (if the same grain sizes are used).
- For best performance at a recommended cutting speed of 15 - 20 m/s. An ideal compromise is achieved between removal power, surface quality, thermal load of the workpiece and tool wear.
- Use sanding oil suitable for the material to significantly increase tool life and grinding performance.

Safety Instructions:
- For safety reasons, the specified maximum permissible speed must never be exceeded.
- The contact pressure must be significantly reduced if the specified optimum speed is exceeded.
- Safety is only guaranteed if the clamping length is at least 10 mm and the specified maximum speed is not exceeded with open shaft lengths.
- When working with large shaft lengths, it is absolutely necessary to bring the tool into contact with the workpiece or insert it into the workpiece (hole, groove) before switching on the drive machine. The workpiece contact must always be guaranteed during operation. Non-observance leads to a risk of kinking and thus an increased risk of accident. If the constant contact between the tool and the workpiece is not guaranteed during use, the maximum idle speeds must not be exceeded.
