Wagon set 1 "Arlberg Express" with three express train coaches of Austrian Federal Railways and a luggage coach of the French State Railways.
Consisting of a dining car, category WRmz, two compartment coaches 1. / 2. Class, category ABmz and a luggage wagon, category Dd2s.
The "Arlberg Express" was one of those trains with a sound name whose introduction dates back to the time of the trans-continental luxury trains. Unlike his siblings, "Orient- and Oostende-Express", he drove all over Austria in the West-East direction.
With time, the train became more and more an international train with a course car. In addition to the Vienna-Paris train trunk, the train took numerous course cars, for example to the Salzkammergut and from there to Salzburg, where they left the train again. There were also course cars from Vienna to Carinthia and East Tyrol, which from Schwarzach-St. Veit was transported via the Tauernbahn.
Depending on the composition, the trains can be reproduced in different configurations of Vienna – Salzburg – Schwarzach St. Veit – Innsbruck.
