Description

Nothing can damage a building as much as water ingress. In order to prevent this, not only the building materials used must be water-proof, but the connecting means also belong to a well thought-out sealing. The SPAX Plumbers' screw is used where plastic roof plates, plates or connection profiles have to be permanently fixed tightly. For this purpose, our plumber screw is made of stainless steel and is supplied with an attached washer with an EPDM rubber seal. The latter prevents water from entering the construction through the drilled hole in the roof skin. Unlike other products, our sealing washer is one piece and has a diameter of 15 mm. This not only benefits the sealing itself, but also the pressure distribution on the often sensitive plastic and metal surfaces.
Screw and sealing washer are made of stainless steel A2 and can withstand the direct weather without any problems. In addition to the larger sealing washer, it is above all our features typical of SPAX that make our SPAX-Plumbers so special: These include the T-STAR plus force attack and the 4CUT tip, which offer unique processing advantages.
This means that you can safely attach roof panels and outer linings in one operation and permanently seal the fixing points.

Information

The SPAX-typical T-STAR plus drive is a so-called Torx socket. This shape increases the attack surface in our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR plus bits fit optimally in the screw head. The best possible power transfer from screwdriver to screw by T-STAR plus enables a fast working, and much more efficient than with all other drives.

Where the countersunk screw is designed flat to allow the screws to be countersunk flush, the oval head offers a convex curve. Depending on the type of screw and the surface texture (stainless steel, nickel-plated, antique), these screws become a decorative element in furniture construction or in fastening baseboards.

In contrast to the partial thread, the full thread extends over the entire length of the screw. The more threads a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be deflected from screw to wood via it. Our threaded screws are used mainly for high-strength wood joints.

The term 4CUT stands for the square shape of the screw tip. These edges supplant the wooden fibers during insertion and creates space for the core diameter of the screw. This reduces the spread pressure exerted by the Kern in the wood and prevents the wood from springing up close to the edges. The necessary torque of the cordless screwdriver is also reduced, because the Kern of the screw does not have to "squeeze" itself into the wood.

The abbreviation A2 on our stainless steel screws is based on the alloy of HER steel. Screws in the stainless steel version A2 offer high protection against corrosion and medium strength. Low is their resistance to seawater and acids. For this reason, they are screwed in outdoor areas that are far from the coast.
