Spectrum S-Flex 98A™ is a filament based on thermoplastic polyurethane. In the area of additive manufacturing, S-Flex 98A™ is a material that is characterized by a relatively simple and problem-free 3D printing process. The printer has an excellent adhesion of the first layer of the manufactured part to the hot bed, whether it is made of glass, steel, plastic or any other material.

Low processing shrinkage and very high flexibility reduce the risk of edges of the manufactured parts becoming curved. The filament name – 98A – refers to the hardness of the material on the shore scale and classifies S-Flex 98A into the category of hard elastomers. From the point of view of the 3D printing process, this feature reduces the risk of filament deformation in the area of the feed system from filament to print heads. This allows a slightly faster pressure compared to other, more susceptible elastomers.

The additive parts made of S-Flex 98A™ are characterized by a very high resistance to hydrolysis (a kind of degradation caused by the action of water), good recyclability and excellent resistance to dynamic forces. These properties make it possible to print 3D printing parts for the protection of high-impact surfaces (bumpers, edge protection), sealing and protective elements with high chemical resistance and thermal isolators.
