New 2025: Adtranz (today Bombardier Transportation) developed a new two-part rail car with tilt technology in 1998, which was named Regioswinger. The application area of this train set should be on twisty routes with accelerated local and regional traffic. The tilting technology makes it possible to reach speeds of up to 160 km/h, which could otherwise have been achieved on these routes, some built in the 19 th century, only through elaborate and expensive construction work.
