New 2025: The simple V 100 series locomotives were significantly involved in the disappearance of steam locomotives on branch lines. The main application area of the BR V 100.10 and .20 machines delivered in series from 1961 was in the light travel and goods train service. In 1968 the locomotives were arranged as series 211 in the new number scheme of the German Federal Railways. The more powerful versions of the V 100.20 series also worked on main and steep tracks.
