The EW-7822ULC is an AC1200 USB adapter with a selectable dual-band WLAN for data transfer speeds of up to 300 Mbps at 2.4GHz and 867 Mbps at 5GHz. The EW-7822ULC is compatible with 11ac Wave 2 MU-MIMO routers. Older laptops or PCs can be upgraded to an MU-MIMO device with the Edimax adapter.

The beamforming technology of the EW-7822ULC makes it possible to direct the WLAN signal to the adapter to establish a stronger, more reliable and more efficient WLAN connection when coupled to a beamforming router. Beamforming WLAN signals are generated in a given direction, while standard WLAN signals are emitted to the outside. This has improved audio quality and better HD video streaming.
