Hollow microfibers are used for filtering. They purify a minimum of 1,000 litres of water, removing almost all bacteria (99.9999 percent) and
individual parasites (99.9 percent) that contaminate the water. The filter also reduces turbidity and removes all particles larger than 0.2 microns.
The housing is made of durable plastic. The filter is free of chemicals and does not require electricity, batteries or spare parts. It is operated only by the slight suction of the user. Anyone who can use a straw can use the LifeStraw. After use, simply blow air through the straw to flush it out.
