The Edimax Pro GS-5424G smart switch has a web-based user interface, 24 Gigabit ports and 4 SFP ports for optical connections. Thus, multi-mode or single-mode SFP modules/transceivers can be used for high-speed Gigabit and long-range data transmission. With intelligent features such as SNMP v3, Dual Firmware, Voice VLAN, DHCP Snooping, QoS, CoS, STP, 802.1Q VLAN, IPv4/IPv6, Port Trunk, IGMP v1/v2/v3 Snooping and Mirror, it provides a cost-effective, scalable and secure switching solution for SMB networks. Edimax's special long range mode allows power and data transmission of up to 200 meters at a speed of 10 Mbps, making it ideal for IP cameras and applications with remote network devices. The Edimax GS-5424G is the ideal solution for increasing distance/speed for network server and backbone connections.
fast Gigabit connection The GS-5424G meets the Gigabit Ethernet standards IEEE802.3/802.3u/802.3ab/802.3z and provides 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports for high-speed transmission of large files and 4 SFP ports for Gigabit Ethernet connections over fiber optic lines.
dual firmware Thanks to the dual firmware function, the switches can use two firmware versions. One of these firmware versions can be used as active and the other as backup. If the active firmware has problems, the backup firmware can be immediately activated to reduce downtime.
Voice VLAN Voice VLAN is a special feature of the GS-5424G switch that allows the network administrator to prioritize IP voice traffic from the IP phone through the switch access port to improve VoIP service. Voice VLAN also provides QoS for VoIP so that the sound quality of an IP phone is not compromised when IP voice traffic is sent unevenly.
DHCP snooping Thanks to the network security feature of DHCP snooping, malicious or false DHCP traffic can be prevented and security risks from malicious DHCP servers can be reduced. The feature monitors DHCP messages received from untrusted devices connected to a switching device on the network and protects the integrity of the legitimate DHCP server and its operations.
Long Range PoE distance extension, up to 200 meters The Long Range mode provides an extended power and data transmission distance of up to 200 meters, while Ethernet switches generally have a distance limit of 100 meters. Long range mode works for each port in 10 Mbps full duplex operation, ideal for devices such as IP cameras, IP phones and PoE-enabled IoT devices at a remote location.
