Description

Five reasons to replace your mercury thermometer:
1. Because the "Stik" thermometer does not contain mercury, it is not subject to the strict restrictions of the authorities. State authorities have either completely banned the use and transport of mercury thermometers or are attempting to ban the use and transport of industrial mercury thermometers. This development seems to be continuing. The stainless steel case of the "Stik" thermometer probe is far more robust than the glass stem of mercury thermometers and better suited for industrial environments. Since the "Stik" thermometer does not contain mercury, there is no risk of mercury leaking.
3. Considering the operating costs, a digital thermometer is cheaper than a mercury thermometer. With a mercury thermometer, you pay for the equipment or cleaning after the mercury has leaked. Mercury thermometers cannot be adjusted after calibration. The current temperature must be calculated by applying corrections to the measured temperature. This takes time and calculation errors cannot be ruled out. A digital thermometer performs the calculation tasks, the displayed temperature corresponds exactly to the currently measured temperature. Thread corrections may also be necessary if the mercury thermometer is not used under the calibration conditions. A digital thermometer does not need to match the calibration procedures to provide accurate measurements. They only have to meet the minimum immersion requirements, which in the case of the 1551A Ex are only seven centimetres.
