Description
The modular interface GBIC stands for Gigabit Interface Converter and enables the transition from one transmission medium to another. This simplifies your installation: For example, instead of replacing an interface card in the switch, an SFP port can serve as a Gigabit Ethernet, fiber, or 2-wire connection.
SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) or Mini-GBIC is the advanced version with smaller form factor and higher speeds. However, SFP+ is even faster than its predecessor with 8 Gb/s Fiber and 10 Gigabit Ethernet.
