The Ixxat USB-to-CAN FD compact with galvanic isolation is a simple, robust, versatile and cost effective way to connect a computer to a CAN FD bus network. It is a very reliable workhorse for CAN FD applications with best-in-class time stamp accuracy and rugged, lightweight housing.
Through the use of efficient, high-quality, durable hardware and the connection via native USB 2.0 Hi-Speed (480 MBit/s) and 9-pin D-Sub connector for CAN, the converter achieves a very high data throughput with minimum latency and power consumption. A galvanic insulation reliably protects the device against damage to the electronics through voltage spikes.
An exceptionally accurate timestamp resolution of only 1 microsecond allows for loss-free sending and receiving of standard and advanced CAN messages on the CAN bus and allows filtering and buffering of CAN messages for very accurate CAN recording and monitoring.
The tested and handy casing of the USB-to-CAN FD compact is designed for the daily use and long life.
For the USB-to-CAN FD compact a comprehensive and stable driver and software package is available, which can be downloaded free from ixxat.com. The Ixxat driver packages for Windows (VCI) and Linux, VxWorks and QNX (ECI) also enable the use in existing applications without software adaptation. The APIs for CANopen and SAE J1939 also support the USB-to-CAN FD family of devices.
The VCI V4 (Virtual Communication Interface) is the driver interface for Ixxat interfaces on Windows and can be downloaded free of charge at ixxat.com/vci. Customer-specific applications for communication via CAN, CAN FD, LIN and Industrial Ethernet can be developed on the basis of the VCI.
The software tool canAnalyser3 Mini is included in the VCI V4 download package and allows initial analysis steps and monitoring in CAN networks.
