At an amazingly affordable price, the monophonic synthesizer offers massive analogue sound and easy programmability in an ultra-portable, battery-powered format for music production, live performance or studio recording.
IK Multimedia combines more than two decades of experience in software and hardware development with the know-how of the Italian boutique synthesizer manufacturer Soundmachines and IKS Synth-Guru Erik Norlander (e.g. one of the heads behind the Alesis Andromeda). UNO Synth provides a wide range of sound, from typical classical to modern sounds, and is thus perfectly suitable for music of all genres.
Especially beginners of synthesizers will love this easy-to-use instrument – 100 presets and a logical user interface with selectable scales and an arpeggiator make UNO Synth the perfect entry into the synthesizer world. Experienced professionals will appreciate the rich sound and the handy format. Under the hood of the shapely UNO Synth works a powerful synthesizer engine with professional sound and an analogueue sound generation, which does not have to shy away from the comparison with much more expensive synthesizers: The completely analogueue sound generation has 2 VCOs, noise, a resonance-enabled multimode VCF as well as a VCA.
Although monophonic, the two independant oscillators of UNO Synth can of course be tuned differently and thus achieve interesting pastarate interval sounds or octaves. The pulse width modulation of each oscillator rounds off the excellent picture and offers extended tone colors of classical synthesizers, estimated by large modular systems. The pure analogueue filter generates the warmth, depth and fat sound that is expected from a real analogueue synthesizer. Designed as a multimode resonance filter, it stands equally for subtle sound modifications and circular, aggressive resonance sweeps. The filter can be modulated with envelope, LFO and performance buttons.
Equipped with 100 exciting presets (80 of them as rewritable user patches), UNO Synth invites you to play and experiment immediately. An arpeggiator pattern and a sequencer character for each preset greatly enhance the fun of finding the perfect sound. More than 40 top panel controls provide instant real-time access to all synthesizer parameters. This allows sound changes to be carried out immediately without having to dive deeper into the menu structure. For further editing, you can also use the editor available for both Mac and PC.
UNO Synth is equipped with a soft keyboard consisting of 27 multi-function keys, two octaves of which can be used either normally chromatically or with 13 different scales. The built-in Arpeggiator offers even more creative possibilities for keyboarders with 10 different patterns and a 4-octave range and lots of fun for beginners. The keyboard also acts as a step edit control for the built-in 100-pattern sequencer, which can be programd either in real time or step-by-step. Further modulable synth parameters are available for each step, making the UN synth sequencer one of the most powerful in its class. Its integrated audio input for connecting audio instruments such as a drum machine makes an additional mixer obsolete.
