Description
The Sparkfun Micro OLED breakout board offers a small monochrome blue-on-black OLED. Even if it is "Micro", it is packed - the OLED display is sharp and you can pack an unbelievably large amount of graphics on it. This breakout board is ideal for adding graphics to your next Arduino project, displaying diagnostic information without having to use the serial output and teaching you a bit of game theory while you create a fun, Arduino-based video game. Most importantly, the Micro OLED is easy to control via the SPI or I²C interface.
The Micro OLED breakout board gives you access to 16 of the OLED's pins, but you only need half to get the display running. The upper row of pins (GND-CS) offers you everything was needed to connect with the OLED via an SPI or I²C interface. The lower row of pins (D7-VB) are usually only used if you want to control the display via a parallel interface. The board operates at 3.3 V with a current of 10mA (20mA max.).
