The DMX Bricklet can be used as a DMX slave or master.
In master mode, the Bricklet can be controlled up to 512 channels with the maximum possible DMX speed. Frames can be sent at a fixed frame rate to create even animations. The frames are double-buffered to increase performance.
In slave mode, the Bricklet can receive all 512 channels. It can be responded to any of these channels. It is also possible to monitor an existing DMX network without influencing it.
The Bricklet is equipped with an XLR socket and plug and has a switchable 120 ohm termination.
The Bricklet has no galvanic separation to the Tinkerforge system. This means that there is a direct electrical connection between the terminals of the Bricklet and the rest of the system. If this leads to unwanted connections, ground loops or short-circuits in the respective application, the use together with an insulator Bricklet is advisable.
The DMX Bricklet has a 7-pin Bricklet plug and is connected with a 7p-10p Bricklet cable with a brick.
Power consumption: 180 mW (36mA at 5V)
Modi: Master/slave
channels: 512
frame rate: Up to 44 Hz at 512 channels (higher at fewer channels)
