Description

With the WIFI Extension 2.0, bricks and bricklets can be controlled wirelessly via smartphone, tablet or PC. Further information on the Master Extension concept is available in the general description.

Since the extension itself can handle the TCP/IP packets generated by the API, it is possible to control them directly from the smartphone, tablet or (embedded) PC. The Brick Demon is then no longer necessary.

A Master Brick is required to use the WIFI extension. THE RED Brick is not currently supported. If other bricks are to be controlled, a stack can be built from them and put on the master brick. If Bricklets are to be used, they can simply be connected to the Master Brick or other Bricks in the stack. From the programr's point of view, this is absolutely transparent, i.e. all Bricks and Bricklets can be used as if they were directly connected to the controlling device via USB.

The master brick used should have a firmware version of 2.4.0 or later in order to use this extension.
