Diesel locomotive Gmeinder 15/18
the railway locomotive corresponds to a type that was manufactured in this building principle from the middle of the twenties by the Baden-based company Gmeinder. The locomotive was produced in large quantities until the 1950s and is still in use today due to its robustness. The model of the field railway locomotive is labeled with "Gmyder 15/18« (15 hp continuous output/ 18 hp short-term output) in accordance with its PS power and is driven by a diesel engine with three-speed transmission and chain drive with a maximum speed of 12 km/h. The track width is 600 mm.
As with the prototype, the locomotive models are available as variants with an open and closed cab. The small locomotives are driven by a 3 Volt micro-precision motor with gear reduction for prototypical slow drive and strong traction. The contact pressure of the locomotive is increased by a built-in magnet on the metal-mounted narrow gauge tracks and thus a safe current consumption of the rails and smooth slow driving is ensured. The locomotives have a coupling pin on the back of the driver's cab for realistic pull formation as well as a magnetic coupling for operation with wagons and wagons from the Busch mine railway assortment. As in the original, the narrow-gauge railway locomotive can be used to drive on the smallest track radii (up to 100 mm). Due to its compact design and low space requirements, it can also be used very well for dioramensing and supplementing existing model railway systems.
