With AnyBus Communicator, you can integrate serial devices (RS-232/422/485) into an Ethernet/IP network. No changes to the serial device are necessary for this.
AnyBus Communicator is a proven and reliable protocol converter that connects non-networked devices to Ethernet/IP. The Communicator performs intelligent protocol conversion and provides the serial data of the higher-level PLC as I/O data.
The Communicator is a compact stand-alone gateway for IP20 and DIN rail mounting that requires a 24-volt power supply. It meets the current Ethernet/IP specification and has been successfully tested for network compatibility.
CONVERTS ALMOST ANY SERIAL PROTOCOL
The Communicator can configure almost any serial protocol, such as master/slave protocols such as Modbus RTU, ASCII, DF1, as well as vendor-specific query/response or Produce/Resume protocols.
TYPICAL SERIAL APPLICATIONS
Typical serial applications include frequency converters, sensors, actuators, operator terminals, bar code readers, RFID readers or industrial scales.
