With the standard sensor, the thickness gauge can measure layer thicknesses of up to 60 mm on a wide range of metallic surfaces. Both solid steel profiles and thin metal sheets are suitable as a base for the thickness gauge. The thickness gauge can be used even on perforated plates, stretch metal panels, structural plates and wire grids with mesh width suitable for the sensor. On these surfaces, the thickness gauge measures the thickness of applied coatings or plate-shaped linings. These coatings can also consist of several layers. For example, steel supports with thick plaster board or gypsum fiberboard can be determined with the thickness gauge, how Dick thickness the clothing is. The thickness can also be measured with the thickness gauge for multi-layered linings made of different materials. The thickness gauge always measures the distance from the coating surface to the surface of the metal base. For non-ideal surfaces, the thickness gauge can calculate the average value from several measurements. For measuring with higher resolution, special sensors for magnetic (Fe) or non-magnetic (NFe) metals are available for the thickness measuring device. With these additional probes, the thickness gauge can measure the thickness of coatings, galvanic coatings or eloxal layers on metal very precisely. In addition to the layer thickness sensors, the thickness gauge also has an optional air-conditioning sensor for ambient temperature, humidity and dew point, a surface temperature sensor for temperatures of -50... 125°C and a surface roughness sensor.
