The material tester for the electrical conductivity of non-ferrous metals such as aluminum or copper belongs to the group of NDT devices. The material tester is used in non-destructive material testing. By means of the eddy current measuring principle proven for this application, the electrical conductivity of metallic materials can be determined quickly and precisely. At a working frequency of 60 kHz, the conductivity meter has a large measurement range of 0.51 … 112% IACS and achieves an accuracy of +/- 0.5% at 20 °C at a resolution of up to 0.01% IACS Thanks to temperature and lift-off compensation up to 500 µm, the device measures accurately, even in coated or corroded workpieces and changing environmental conditions. The measurement of the electrical conductivity of non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, titanium, magnesium or bronze is suitable for different applications, including the determination of metals and the characterization of alloys. Typical application areas are the assessment of strength differences in heat-treated or hardened materials, the authenticity check of coin alloys, the inspection of alloying inhomogeneities in critical components or also the sorting of materials. The conductivity meter is powered by an internal battery that can be charged from the bottom of the unit. Next to the connection for the charging adapter there is the USB interface via which the measuring device can be read. This also enables later analysis of individual measured values or entire measurement series. The control panel of the device can also be seen here. It is clearly arranged and has large keys, whose function is kept simple.
