proto-Pasta HTPLA is a dense material that is as easy to print as standard PLA, but provides heavy, metallic-looking prints that can be brushed, ground or polished after printing to produce amazing results. Perfect for jewelry, costumes, props, figures, crafts, Robots and more! We recommend experimenting with this starter kit (including instructional videos).
Caution
This filament is more abrasive than the standard PLA. Be ready to replace your nozzle and set the first layer. Use a wear-resistant nozzle and/or a larger diameter nozzle to extend service intervals. In the form of filaments, SSPLA is somewhat more brittle than the standard PLA and requires special care in handling. The processing is comparable to standard PLA, no heated print bed is required. The printing process may be less consistent on smaller nozzles and/or bowden cable machines. For the best possible print quality, we recommend printing with direct drive systems (DirectDrive extruders), with 0.6mm nozzles and at 210-230°C printing temperature.
