The Wireless AC1200 Dualband USB Adapter DWA-182 supports the common WLAN standards 802.11 a/b/g/n and is therefore fully compatible with other wireless products: In combination with the new entry, older WLAN devices from the home network also benefit from the full Gigabit speed in the WLAN. Wireless surfing pleasure on the Internet and fast data access are guaranteed at all times.
WLAN top technology 802.11ac
With 802.11ac, Gigabit-Speed is entering the wireless network. The new standard uses several frequency bands simultaneously and optimizes the modulation methods previously used with 802.11n. Nevertheless, the technology remains backwards compatible with the existing and widely used standards 802.11 a/b/g/n.
Dualband technology for even more entertainment
The DWA-182 adapter offers dualband technology and transmits simultaneously on the 2.4 GHz (300 Mbit/s) as well as on the 5 GHz frequency band (up to 867 Mbit/s). For example, it is possible to retrieve emails and surf the Internet via the 2.4 GHz band while transferring movies and other multimedia content or playing online games via the 5 GHz band.
Easy installation and secure home network
In just a few minutes, the dualband adapter connects to a free USB port and immediately establishes a wireless connection to the network. To protect personal data and privacy, the adapter supports the latest wireless encryption standards WPA and WPA2.
