The Apple Watch Series 8 requires an iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16 or later.(1) The ECG app and the message in case of irregular heart rhythm require the latest version of watchOS and iOS and are not intended for use by persons under 22 years of age. The ECG app is available on Apple Watch Series 4 or later (except Apple Watch SE). The message of irregular heart rhythm is not designed for people who have already been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation (Afib).(2) The blood oxygen value measured in the app is not intended for medical purposes, including self-diagnosis and medical calls, and is only suitable for general fitness and wellness use.(3) The temperature detection feature is not a medical device and is not intended for medical diagnosis, treatment, or other medical purposes.(4) The Cycle Log app should not be used as a method of contraception. Data from the cycle log app should not be used to diagnose a disease.(5) SOS Emergency Call requires a cellular connection or Wi-Fi call with an Internet connection from your nearby Apple Watch or iPhone.(6) The Apple Watch Series 8 is water-protected up to 50 meters according to ISO standard 22810:2010. This means it is suitable for activities in shallow water such as swimming in a pool or in the sea.
