Its impact-resistant housing with high-quality plastic cover and die-cast aluminum base makes the 1-pin mechanical body thermostat very robust and can also be used under harsh conditions. The measuring system used works according to the principle of liquid expansion and can be used without any problem up to a maximum admissible sensor temperature of 150 °C. The dip tube made of nickel-plated brass has a diameter of 8 mm. It is attached by a thread G1/2 Form A to DIN 3852/2. The maximum permissible ambient temperature on the housing (protection type IP54) is 80 °C. The desired shutdown temperature can be easily adjusted with the help of a screw driver after removing the cover on the inside on a scale. If the temperature at the temperature sensor exceeds the set limit, the circuit is opened and the micro switch is mechanically locked. After falling below the danger temperature by about 10% of the scale range, the micro switch can be unlocked manually. The safety temperature limiter has a high switching point accuracy of +0/-5% in the upper third of the scale. If the measuring system is destroyed, the circuit will be opened continuously and unlocking is then no longer possible. If the sensor cools to a temperature below approx. -20 °C the circuit is also opened, only when the temperature rises above approx. -20 °C the STB can be unlocked manually by means of the restart button. A decisive advantage is that no additional power supply is required for measuring the temperature. The electrical connection is made by screw terminals directly on the micro switch built-in, which can directly switch a maximum permissible switching capacity of AC 230 Volt / 10 A. The safety temperature limiter is very flexible in use and is used both in the heating, air-conditioning and ventilation technology as well as in the plastic industry, the apparatus and mechanical engineering as well as in furnace construction, in district heating transfer stations and for temperature monitoring in laboratories and air conditioning cabinets. The device is approved according to DIN EN 14597 and DGRL and has an EAC approval.
