Its galvanized steel plate housing makes the 1-pin mechanical thermostat very robust and can also be used in harsh conditions. The measuring system used works according to the principle of liquid expansion and can be used without any problem up to a maximum admissible sensor temperature of 145 °C. The smooth round sensor made of copper has a diameter of 6 mm with a probe length of approx. 87 mm. The remote control cable of the thermostat is also made of copper and can be laid flexibly under consideration of a bending radius of 5 mm. The first 460mm from the switching head are covered with an electrically insulating PVC protective hose. The maximum permissible ambient temperature at the switching head (protection class IP00) is 80 °C. The temperature compensation reduces the influence of the ambient temperature on the control head to a minimum. The switch head is attached using a mounting bridge using two screws M4 x 28. With the help of a setpoint adjuster, which is available as an accessory, the desired shut-off temperature on a scale can be easily adjusted. The temperature controller has a high switching point accuracy of +/- 3 % in the upper scale third. A decisive advantage is that no additional power supply is required for measuring the temperature. The electrical connection is made at the flat plugs (A 6.3 x 0.8 DIN 46244) of the switching set, which can directly switch a maximum permissible switching power of AC 230 Volt / 16 A. The thermostat has a switching difference (hysteresis) of approx. 3 K and switches back to the original state automatically after falling below the switch-off temperature by this value. The temperature controller can be used very flexibly and is used both in the heating, air-conditioning, ventilation technology, as well as in the plastic industry, in apparatus and oven construction as well as for temperature monitoring in laboratories and climate chambers. The device is approved according to DIN EN 14597 and has UL and EAC approval. The device is RoHS compliant and cadmium free.
