Description
The HYDROSTIK PRO cartridge is equipped with an aluminum alloy material housing and an AB2 alloy for hydrogen absorption.
After activation, the AB2 alloy is able to absorb hydrogen, expand and heat up to saturation. The internal pressure of the fully charged cartridge remains at 30 bar (435 PSI) at ambient temperatures from 20°C to 25°C and the weight is approximately 0.9 grams higher. As soon as the cartridge valve is opened and the pressure is reduced, hydrogen is continuously released from the alloy, which absorbs heat. As the heat absorption rate decreases, the hydrogen release rate also decreases. The materials in the cartridge housing are made of an aluminum alloy with excellent thermal conductivity properties, which can facilitate heat conduction of the alloy during the gas absorption and release processes. The gas absorption efficiency of the alloy can be significantly affected by oxidation due to moisture; therefore, dry hydrogen gas with a purity of at least 99.99 % is required for loading.
