The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 SODIMM (CM4S) is a system on module (SOM) that contains processor, memory, eMMC flash, and supporting power circuits. With these modules, developers can use the hardware and software of the Raspberry Pi in their own systems and form factors. The SODIMM form factor calculation modules have 18 additional GPIO pins compared to the standard Raspberry Pi boards, which means a total of 46, WAS opens up more possibilities for designers.
CM4S is based loosely on the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B and can also be supplied without eMMC for cost-sensitive applications; this version is called Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 SODIMM Lite (CM4SLite).
The CM4S has the same form factor as the older Raspberry Pi Compute Modules 3 and 3+, which are mechanically compatible with DDR2-SODIMM.
This device is designed for industrial customers who want to upgrade from Compute Module 3 or 3+ and continue to use the SODIMM form factor or take advantage of the increased SDRAM capacity.
