Do the plants in your garden suffer from voracious voles? The rodents feed themselves from roots and vegetables. They therefore flush their aisles directly under the lawn surface. This sets them apart from the mole. Due to their high rate of propagation, the animals can become a plague in a very short time. In their underground passages, you fight them with this tunnel trap of Gardigo. To insert the trap into the Vole Tunnel, you must find it for the first time.
Practically, the tunnel path is often visible. If not, they can search with a probe (e.g. a thin metal rod). The tunnel probably runs where they put the rod lightly first and then with greater resistance in the ground. Then bucket a hole into which the trap just fits. The ideal tool for this is a flower-bulb setter, but also a small spades performs good services. Place the trap in the hole and align the openings in the direction of the tunnel. Now seal the gap between trap and soil with leaves or moss. You can also simply pull a bucket over the trap.
The main thing is that there is no air entering the tunnel. That would irritate the vole. The clamping of the latch is particularly easy: With only one hand pull the handle upwards at the top until it snaps into place. Finished! The trap snaps close immediately when a rodent runs against the trigger. Without pulling the trap out of the ground, you can tell at the position of the handle whether the trap has been activated.
