Description
The advanced digital luminosity sensor TSL2591 is ideal for use in a wide range of light situations. It can be configured for different gain/timing ranges to detect a massive dynamic 600,000,000:1 light range from 188 µlux up to 88,000 lux. This sensor contains infrared and full spectrum diodes to measure infrared, full-spectrum or human-visible light separately. The built in ADC enables use with any microcontroller. The current draw is extremely low, about 0.4 mA when actively sensing and less than 5 µA when in power-down mode, enabling low power data-logging systems. A detailed tutorial shows how to wire up the sensor, use it with an Arduino and the example code gets readings and calculates lux.
