enables the use of analog components such as sensors on the Raspberry Pi
In contrast to the Arduino, the Raspberry Pi has no analog inputs or no ADC (analog
digital converter) integrated in the chip of the Raspberry Pi. This limits the Raspberry Pi if you want to use
sensors where values are not output digitally.
This problem can be solved with this analog/digital converter.
This converter is also included in the sensor set, part number: W924301.
This module has a 16 bit accurate ADC, which you can use on the Raspberry to add 4 analog inputs to it. It is connected to the Raspberry Pi via I2C, takes over the analog measurement and transmits the value digitally to the Raspberry Pi.
